Farm Sit
We own Ben Nevis Angus Stud which is located on 2 properties in Walcha, in Northern NSW totalling 2200 acres. We are away overseas from 6th September to 8 October and need a caretaker on the farm and are happy to pay.
This would entail using an ATV to drive around every couple of days and alert other people we have working with us of any issues. This may include a sick animal that need medication, a calf through the fence from its mum, a broken fence or a broken water trough. It may also involve opening gates for cows to their next paddock. They are trained for this and usually are waiting at the gate for a fresh paddock. If you are capable of fixing these things yourself we will negotiate a higher paid rate (and youd definitely be on the Christmas card list). Also the usual feeding of friendly dogs, fat cats, geese (friendly), ducks and garden bed watering if it needs.
Accommodation will be your choice of your van parked against our homestead on flat grpund with full use off electricty, water, bathroom, kitchen, laundry and living room, OR a self contained demountable (new) with 1 bedroom/lounge and bathroom and simple kitchen- both these are 10 kms from the beautiful town of Walcha. OR a fully renovated studio apartment converted from the Woolshed at our 2nd property which is 26 kms from town and a 3 km dirt road in. beautiful views across the mountains and valleys.
