Looking for a peaceful farm escape? We’re seeking a volunteer—solo traveler or couple, ideally middle-aged, elderly, or retired grey nomads—to join our 550-acre grass-fed cattle farm in East Gippsland, VIC 🌾 Home to 200 breeder Murray Grey cattle and 400-600 head of quiet, good-tempered cattle, we operate under an accredited grass program and practice regenerative farming.
Our last volunteer stayed for two years, and many before them stayed at least three months—this is a rare opportunity to live in a low-pressure, tranquil sanctuary! If you love nature and are handy with low-intensity tasks like mowing, maintenance or cleaning, this is for you! 🚜
⚠️ This is a contra arrangement (non-paying, in exchange for accommodation/amenities) and not suitable for international visa travelers as it’s not government-affiliated.
Who We Need
- People who love the countryside with some farm experience 🌱
- Comfortable with low-intensity work like identifying weeds or light tasks in vast, natural spaces
- Handy with mowing, cleaning, or occasional cattle work—no pressure! 🧹🐮
- Perfect for middle-aged, elderly, or retired grey nomads seeking a relaxed lifestyle
- Happy to welcome a couple or solo traveler
What We Ask Of You
- Commit to 3+ months to settle into our relaxed farm vibe ⏳
- Work 2-4 hours/day, 5 days/week (extra hours negotiable if bored)
- Mow lawns and tidy the yard around our beautiful homestead and Airbnb house 🏡
- Clean/manage yards at our Airbnb house with profit-sharing potential 💰
- Help our farm manager with light tasks like tending gardens, checking our quiet, good-tempered grass-fed cattle, ad-hoc farm clean-up, or other small farm jobs across our 550 acres 🌄
- Move our calm cattle between paddocks when the farm manager is away, especially late November to mid-December 🚶♂️🐄

Who You Are
- Farm-savvy and confident with our quiet, good-tempered Murray Grey cattle, including occasional paddock moves 🐄
- Able to handle low-intensity yard work, maintenance, or occasional fence fix-ups (training provided if you’re keen) 🛠️
- Works well solo or with our farm manager in a no-pressure environment 🤝
- Loves nature, supports regenerative farming, and is ideally a middle-aged, elderly, or retired grey nomad 🌱
