We’re a family-run sheep and cropping farm in South Australia, and we’re looking forward to welcoming Farm Army volunteers through the Rural Aid program to lend a hand and a boost following many tough and demanding seasons.

Like many farming families, we’ve been juggling the pressure of the land, the weather, and the long to-do list that never quite seems to end. Extra hands right now will make a real and practical difference to our home, our farm, and our wellbeing. We are a young farming family with three boys who are also actively involved on the farm. While we have expanded our farming business in recent years, the pressures of the drought means that many jobs are never-ending and the not-so-vital jobs like house maintenance and improvements have gone undone. My husband works huge hours on the farm, and the boys and I also work as much as we can - so any help either on the farm, or on other jobs, will be an incredible help.

We have a few different properties including Worlds End (near Burra, SA), as well in the Mallee (SA) - so can be flexible depending on where you are travelling to or from

🛠️ Volunteer Tasks May Include
No two days are the same on a farm, but jobs could include:
- Helping with basic house repairs and maintenance
- Painting inside or outside buildings
- General tidying, fixing, and practical odd jobs
- Assisting with simple farm tasks (non-specialist), depending on skills and comfort levels

There’s a mix of indoor and outdoor work, and we’ll always match tasks to your ability, experience, and physical capacity.

💼 Potential for Paid Farm Work
Depending on the timing of your stay, seasonal needs, and your skills or experience, there may also be opportunities for paid farm work in addition to volunteer support. This would be discussed and arranged separately if suitable.
Farm Work May include:
- Tractor/machinery driving
- Machinery maintenance and repairs
- Sheep work
-Fencing

👩‍🌾 Who This Could Suit
You don’t need to be a farmer (but a background in farming life, and an understanding of it is a definite bonus!) — just someone who is:
- Practical and willing to get stuck in
- Happy working as part of a small team, or on your own
- Comfortable with hands-on tasks
- Respectful of a family working farm environment
- Trades skills or experience with farming, tools, painting, or maintenance are wonderful — but not essential. A good attitude goes a long way.

This opportunity may be especially well suited to:
🚐 Grey nomads
🗺️ Travellers doing a lap of Australia
🔧 Practical people who enjoy meaningful, hands-on work - and looking to help out a hard-working, determined family.

🍽️ What We Provide
To be honest, our life is full and chaotic as we juggle the pressures of the farm, =busy kids, and other work demands. But, we can guarantee that you will experience some amazing moments, some excitement that's a little different from normal city life, incredible (film-worthy) scenery as a background. And while we are busy, we always love a chat, a laugh, and maybe a cold drink at the end of a long day.

❤️ Why It Matters
When you’re farming through ongoing challenges, jobs like home repairs and maintenance often fall to the bottom of the list. Your support helps lighten the load, and gives us breathing room to focus on the farm and family.

If you are interested in any of the above, please give us a call and we'd love to have a chat
