We require someone who has had past experience in grain& sheep farming, particularly with feeding sheep. We are overstocked with sheep, there are no markets to sell sheep and it's a full-time job feeding them 7 days/week and checking on them to keep them at the high quality that we need to sell them at. We are trying to find the time to put a crop in as well general farm work that need to be done to run a 7,000 acre farm (with 2,500 recently leased out). We have about 6000 sheep and lambing has begun. We have no green feed for sheep, there is no rain in sight for the foreseeable future and my husband has had a recent cancer diagnosis and is presently on a chemo journey while working 10-12 hours/day, 7 days/week. I would like to see him have a day off a week and to work 6-8 hours on some days just so that he can look after himself a bit better as per the recommendation from his oncologist.
You would need your own accommodation eg caravan and you are welcome to park up anywhere you like on the farm. We have sheds less than 1km from the house with electricity. Driver's Licence and ability to drive a farm ute with a sheep feeder and maybe a tractor would be required.
