Peter and I run our Qld/NSW border river farm on our own, we are in our 60s, farmed all our lives and running into drought and shocking stock prices once again. I am recovering from major spinal /leg surgery after accident and having trouble working as usual on the farm. Our farm is an historic station on the Qld/NSW border west of Tenterfield and east of Texas. We run Dorper sheep , breeder cattle and usually hay crops on river flats. We have 2 farm cottages we would like to let out for holiday period for further income on farm . Any assistance to finish painting and furnishing would be so appreciated. Peter would love a hand to feed stock, complete small jobs we are so behind with due to having sheep on the road grazing daily for feed. We have a bunch of lovely Border Collies who help us every single day with stock and welcome visitors.
In return we can offer a cottage to stay in, pets welcome under control, or you can hook up to electricity etc with your van. We can supply farm raised lamb for your meat, some meals if required or help with groceries. The fishing on our two rivers on farm is great with Yellowbelly and Murray Cod caught , the Glenlyon dam 5km away for launching boats for more fishing or exploring, wineries around here and plenty of places for walks and wildlife spotting.
Look forward to hearing from you, we are an old fashioned couple who always welcome visitors to our farm. Its a bit dry here at the moment due to lack of rain but still beautiful. There are several swimming and beach spots on the river to enjoy. We are half an hour to Tenterfield for shopping on Bruxner Way or 50km via part gravel road to lovely Texas Qld . Also 90 km to Stanthorpe Qld
