We have a caretaking need:
RUINED CASTLE - West of Taroom Qld, immediate start - ongoing (cattle breeder block)
Due to flooding at home in Theodore (2 hrs from Ruined Castle) and the loss of our longterm caretakers due to health issues, we are in desperate of some help.
“RUINED CASTLE” is a scenic, remote forestry block surrounded on 3 sides by National Park. 75km on dirt road to the nearest town, Taroom (and 152km to Theodore) it offers a quiet and peaceful caretaking experience. A typical week would involve approximately 20 hours of work assisting with water runs, lick runs and general house/property/machinery maintenance in return for accommodation in a sweet, basic workers cottage. Caravans also welcome.
We live 2 hrs away in Theodore and come out once every couple of weeks to check things and then every couple of months for a week to fortnight long muster.
Due to the location of the block, the ideal person would need to have strong practical “handyman” and mechanical skills. The role does not require cattle work although a background with cattle and/or on the land would be an advantage as well as a genuine desire/passion to live remotely.
Depending on skill set, some paid work in excess of the 20hrs/week may be available.
If you are interested we would love to hear from you.
