We have a low maintenance farm situated in Atholwood, NSW, that we are seeking a farm sitter for. Dates required are 23rd December to 4 January. We plan to take our young family back to Brisbane for Christmas.
There is a small mob of Ewes, all with lambs under foot that require hand feeding each day. Sitter must be able to lift a square bale of hay. There are also two poddy calves, not so small any more, who will require feeding every second day. There are two working dogs – one kelpie and one border collie who will need feeding, watering and a run in the afternoons / early morning.
In exchange for your help we are offering water and electricity if you are bringing your own van, otherwise, use of our house. There is a farm buggy that you are most welcome to use to get around the property. The property has lots of great spots for climbing rocks and picnics. Lots of feral goats to catch a glimpse of as well as kangaroos and emus.
The nearest town, Texas, is very friendly. The Dumeresq River is often flowing at this time of the year so a quick dip or fishing is always a must.
