We have a 20-acre eco-property west of Casino, NSW and we require live in help to continue with our dreams of regenerative farming, ecological restoration, gardening, animal husbandry and self-reliance.
Our power comes from the sun, our water from the sky and we are working on our food coming from our land.
Our 20 acres is part of a 6500-acre property devoted to self-sufficiency, environmental stewardship, and community. It is surrounded by National Parks, State Forests and has two rivers that meet at our heart.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about the environment, community, self-motivated, hardworking, multi-skilled, kind, caring, happy and fun.
A couple, single, young or old, international travellers or dogs will be seriously considered on a case-by-case basis. We would prefer a long-term arrangement (years), but will accept shorter stays for the right person as we understand we satisfy 88 day visa requirements for backpackers.
In return, we offer space to grow personally, acres of land to plant and regenerate, your own living quarters, shared kitchen/bathroom/toilet facilities, free water, free power, free internet, shared gardens, shared animals, orchards, and community.
We have cows (Dexters – milk and meat), goats (Saanen and Boar – milk and meat), Chickens (eggs and meat), Bees (2 hives – soon to be 5), one dog (small house dog), Stocked dam (silver perch, yabbies, mussels), emerging food forests/orchards, developing food gardens, developing wildlife corridors and bigger dreams yet!
Arrangements are flexible, but we would imagine you undertake a consistent 3-4 hours/day of work 5 days/week that contributes to our collective prosperity. This could be tending to gardens, orchards, vegies, and animals or helping with building, maintenance, fencing etc.
As a caretaker, you will be looking after/maintaining our property whilst we go to town for 1-2 days per week or go away for holidays periodically for a week or two.
The world is becoming an increasingly crazy place and we offer you (and maybe your family) a safe refuge, nature, community, space and opportunity.
- If you would like to hitch your wagon to our train, please email and introduce yourself. We look forward to getting to know you well.
