Valene Dairy is a small dairy farm situated at Hannam Vale on the NSW mid north coast between Taree and Port Macquarie and just 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway. The dairy was re-established only 3 ½ years ago. Help is required as soon as possible due to the current drought situation. Any farming and/or cattle experience would be preferred.
Severe drought and recent bushfires in the area have impacted significantly on the farm. Extra farm help is required for day to day activities such as feeding out hay to the herd and generally helping out.
A variety of activities to help us our at this time could include
• Feeding calves and heifers
• Feed hay to dairy herd
• Assist with fencing repairs and back fencing
• Check water troughs and pumps
• Clearing gullies and fence lines of privet and weeds
• General assistance with some gardening and composting
• Cleaning dairy and sheds
• Cleaning, painting and garden maintenance of adjacent property
• Basic building maintenance
Activities would be based on skills, experience and interest
There are a few possibilities/options for accommodation on the farm (by negotiation)
1. use of a powered site for caravan – water is available
2. own room in the main house (share facilities)
There maybe other independent options depending on dates
