Beautiful Abundance rebuild is progressing after the fires but I still need some help so I’m reaching out to Farm Army again.
Nursery half of the block been cleared of felled burnt trees with much appreciated assistance from Farm Army Volunteers. Got sufficient timber poles from the block, with enough recycled hardwood beams and roofing iron donated to build the farm sheds. Still tracking down guttering but apart from that good to go.
Problem is I’ve no idea how to build the sheds, not something I’ve had a chance to learn before. Done lots carpentry work but nothing this big.
Looking for someone with the qualifications, skills and knowledge to lead the build process and teach myself and a team of 3 local indigenous lads how to do it properly. Got series of sheds to build, some only small (4x4m) if you’ve only got a couple of days, couple of big ones (30x5m & 8x7m) which will take some time. Looking at doing something similar to what Sheds for Hope are building, so pretty basic design.
Off grid property with limited reception.
Area is still in drought and in bushfire risk zone, but community farm is in stunning bush location surrounded by National Park. Area has been Covid Free (80km radius) from first week of outbreak and have covid protocols in place for visitors safety. No Pets or drugs are allowed on the farm.
Accommodation is a basic, but beautiful bush site. Can supply a tent if needed or bring your tiny house/campervan. Internet access onsite for wifi phone reception to keep you connected.
Potential for paid work with other community farm members for qualified trades.
