We are in our 70’s and are feeding cattle in the drought stricken area of Yelarbon, between Goondiwindi and Yelarbon and approx. 27km from each centre with bitumen access on one property and mostly bitumen to the other, taking 20 minutes to travel to each town for shopping.
We have 2 properties. We live on one and would appreciate a caretaker for the second property.
Ideally we would like a married couple, with the man being able to help Don with cattle work, fencing and handyman jobs on the farm, when he needs it and the lady being able to help Sue with housework when she needs it, because she is on home dialysis. This process takes 6 hours every second day, so Sue is no longer able to help Don with cattle work.
People who have had farm experience and possibly trade experience would be ideal.
The property where we would like the caretaker has a donger for accommodation. There are plenty of spaces to camp near there or on the river if you had your own caravan. We used to run a river-side camping centre, where up to 200 people used to camp.
The other property has a shearer’s quarters which would have to be shared with visitors and with our storage for dialysis. This building has hot showers and toilets and power.
